Dear Prospective Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in the Phillips Beth
Israel School of Nursing. You will have
a number of important considerations to evaluate in selecting the school that
is right for you. Here are some of the
reasons given by our students who have chosen Phillips Beth Israel School of
Nursing this year:
- Outstanding Faculty:
The school's faculty is one of its richest educational resources with a
large number of well qualified instructors available to assist you during
classroom, recitation, laboratory and clinical learning experiences.
- Personal Attention:
An exceptional student-teacher ratio of 9 to 1 for clinical experiences
ensures that each student will receive a high degree of individual attention,
and the opportunity to achieve one's personal best. The school offers a summer institute to
enable incoming students to review math, chemistry and test taking skills when
additional preparation is needed in these subjects. Those who are returning to
school after being out for a time, and those who are changing careers, will
benefit significantly from this free summer enrichment program. In addition, our learning resource center
allows students to progress at their own pace, utilizing advanced
computer-assisted learning tools. Students
are also assigned a faculty member who will be their academic advisor and will
follow their progress throughout the program.
- Excellent Financial Aid Program:
Through the school's extensive financial aid program, qualified
applicants are assisted in meeting tuition and school-related expenses through
a combination of scholarships, grants, and loans. We offer a significant number of full
scholarships through the Alex Hillman Family Foundation Scholarship Program.
- Extensive Clinical Facilities:
Beth Israel
Medical Center,
where you receive most of your clinical experience, is one of New York's outstanding health care
systems. It offers an unusual
combination of the best in teaching, research and technology capabilities in a
caring and supportive environment.
