Federal Work Study

Federal Work Study
Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing participates in the Federal Work Study Program.
The Office of Financial Aid awards eligible students with Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds, establishes rates of pay, maximum weekly hours, and conducts job placement.

Student Eligibility Requirements:
• Students must be matriculated and enrolled for at least half-time study (minimum of 6 credits or equated credits for fall and spring semesters).
• Students must be U.S. citizens, permanent resident aliens, or other eligible classifications of non-citizen.
• Students must have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the established deadline of June 1 (or new students immediately upon acceptance).
• Students must demonstrate financial need, which is established by a uniform need analysis evaluation performed by the School according to federal guidelines.
• Students must be in good academic standing at the college and maintain satisfactory academic progress according to federal guidelines.

Hourly Wages
Students will earn at least the current federal minimum wage, but the amount might be higher depending on the type of work and the skills required. The total federal work study award depends on when a student applies, the level of need, and the funding level available at the School.  Students will be paid on an hourly basis.
