When are new classes admitted?
PBISN admits classes once each year beginning in the Fall semester.
Can I apply credits earned at another school toward a degree at PBISN?
Every applicant's transcript(s) is evaluated individually. In general, comparable liberal arts and science courses from an accredited college--passed with a grade of C or better--may be eligible for transfer credits. Science courses must have been completed within the past five years. All nursing courses must be completed at PBISN. Enrolled students must complete all science courses at PBISN.
How long will it take to complete the program if I have transfer credits?
The nursing program is structured to be completed within two years. A three-year option also is available (one year of liberal arts and sciences, followed by two years of nursing). Once enrolled, students must complete the program within four years.
Are classes offered in the evening?
An Evening Program was introduced in Fall 2007. The program is open only to students who have completed all of the curriculum’s science and liberal arts pre-co/requisites, with the exception of Nutrition & Diet Therapy and Pharmacology. See the Program section for more information.
Is financial aid available?
Federal, state, and institutional aid is available to eligible students, including Federal Pell grants and nursing loans, State TAP awards, federal work study, and school-based scholarships.
Does your School offer an accelerated LPN to RN Program?
PBISN does not offer a LPN to RN program at this time. A statewide LPN to RN Transition Course is required to validate previous knowledge and to determine advanced placement within an RN program. For more information about the LPN to RN program requirements, please see http://www.lpntorn.info/about_model.html. Individuals who successfully complete the LPN to RN Transition Course (a 3-credit course) will receive 12 credits toward their nursing credits at PBISN. Note: Successful completion of the transition course does not guarantee admission to PBISN. Applicants will be considered for entry to PBISN based on the School’s standard eligibility requirements (please see the Admissions section of this site). Enrollment for applicants who have completed the LPN to RN Transition Course is in the Spring semester.
How can I find out more about the School?
Everyone is welcome to attend an Open House program. Please see the Open House link on the left-hand side of our Home page.
