Transfer Credit Policies

The following courses will be considered for transfer credit:
 
Liberal Arts Courses:
English Composition (3 credits)
General Psychology (3 credits)
Developmental Psychology (3 credits)
Introduction to Sociology (3 credits)
Philosophy (Normative Ethics) (3 credits)

Science Courses:
Anatomy and Physiology I (4 credits with Lab)
Anatomy and Physiology II (4 credits with Lab)
Microbiology (4 credit with Lab)
Nutrition and Diet Therapy (3 credits)

Nursing Courses:
Math for Medications (1-3 credits) A Challenge exam must be taken at the School

Policies:

1.  Successful completion of a comparable course from an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education with a grade of “C” or better. 

2.  Science courses must have been successfully completed within the last five years.  To validate college science courses that are more than five years old, applicants may challenge the course through Excelsior College Examinations.

3.  Liberal arts courses will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee on a case-by-case basis. A course description and/or syllabus may be requested for courses for which the student is requesting transfer credit.

All official transcripts must be submitted to the Admissions Committee for review. A Transfer Credit Assessment Form is prepared and mailed to each student along with their acceptance letter.  Students must review the Transfer Credit Assessment Form, indicate any course(s) in progress, and sign off on the form, acknowledging that the form is correct as of that date.  When an updated transcript(s) is received for any additional course(s) completed prior to the beginning of classes, the Transfer Credit Assessment Form will be updated accordingly.
