Since its inception as a diploma program in 1904, the Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing has been a leader in professional nursing education. Over the past century more than 3,500 nurses have graduated from our School—many have made enormous contributions to the advancement of the nursing profession.

To ensure that our educational offerings remain on the cutting-edge, our curriculum is updated on an ongoing basis. Major health problems are taught using a humanistic framework based on meeting patient needs in the hospital, in the home, and in a variety of community-based settings.

This is a unique and challenging time to enter the nursing profession—but it is also an exciting time when nurses have more options than ever before. I am proud to say that our graduates are in great demand because health care providers know that they have received the kind of well-rounded education that enables them to perform effectively in today’s complex, technology-driven health care environment.

I have no doubt that the talented and committed faculty and staff at our School will help you to reach your full potential in one of the most rewarding professions available.

Sincerely,

Janet Mackin, RN, EdD
Dean
